Cardinal Mooney High School is deeply rooted in tradition. Its many traditions have made it the exceptional academic institution it has become since it was founded in 1959. The most durable and impactful tradition that we maintain-is giving. Our strong tradition of giving from parents, alumni faculty and friends, allows us to continue to grow our academic and extracurricular programs, hire talented faculty, and update our campus to meet the ever-changing needs of educating our students for today’s world.

Mooney Fund

The Mooney Fund is the cornerstone of giving at Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School. Each year, the Mooney Fund supports the most critical needs of the school, such as scholarships/tuition assistance, faculty and staff development, facilities maintenance, technology, and student life. Every gift, no matter the size, provides vital support to Cardinal Mooney and our mission, “to bring all of creation to its fulfillment according to God’s design by proclaiming the message of truth, building a community of justice and peace, and reaching out in service to the entire human community”. When you invest in Mooney, you invest in the potential of our students and their ability to be “faithful stewards of God’s grace in various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).

The Mooney Fund opens on July 1 of each year and ends on June 30 of the following year.

Adopt-A-Student Program

There are times when financial hardships fall on hardworking families. Often these situations can be temporary, but it is school tuition that may be one of the first expenses to be cut from the family budget. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those individuals who sponsor students through the Adopt-A-Student program. As a result of this generosity, Cardinal Mooney students who are recipients of scholarship awards excel and develop into promising future leaders.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching gift programs that will DOUBLE or TRIPLE your contribution to Cardinal Mooney and increase your impact. Matching gifts are credited directly to you. Planned and Estate Giving

A planned gift is any major gift made in lifetime or at death as part of your overall financial and/or estate planning. Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Cardinal Mooney High School and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. Gifts of Appreciated Stock

A gift of stock will give you an immediate tax benefit on the full market value of your gift and helps you avoid capital gains tax. Gifts of stock are also very appropriate to use when establishing a life income gift, such as a Charitable Gift Annuity or a Charitable Remainder Trust. Scholarship Opportunities

An endowed scholarship fund may be established to support specific educational programs, objectives or interests. Scholarship funds are investments, designed to grow and generate income for years to come; they are investments in our school, our community, and our future.
